In many companies, additive technology is becoming the default solution for producing various parts and housings. Using 3D printing, companies shorten delivery times, secure the supply chain, reduce costs, and even increase product quality and streamline processes.
If you are wondering what is involved in implementing 3D printing in your company, this article will help you figure it out.
We will also tell you about the process of ordering, production and, finally, order fulfillment by our team.
1. Delivery Time
If the design is ready for printing and does not require changes, a standard order processing time is five business days, but this deadline may be extended in the case of exceptionally large orders.
In priority mode, we can process orders within three business days, but this involves an additional 30% cost. The possibility of printing in priority mode depends on available processing capacity.
If we are dealing with a project not originally designed for additive technologies, changes may be necessary (or highly recommended due to cost optimization). Due to the principle of operation of additive technologies and wider design possibilities, our experienced designers can often introduce improvements that reduce costs and streamline designs.
2. File Format
You can send us your designs for pricing or printing in the following formats:
- STP
- STL
- OBJ
3. Quotation
If the delivered file meets the requirements and can be approved for printing, we will send an order quote within X.
The cost of order fulfillment depends on:
- Volume and overall dimensions
- Type of surface finishes
- Completion date (price is lower when orders are placed further in advance)
4. Additional Services
In addition to 3D printing, we provide companies with support in implementing 3D printing and assistance in designing parts for additive technologies. This includes:
- Creating designs from scratch based on guidelines or sketches
- Support in designing parts for additive technologies (optimization, cost reduction, inclusion of inserts, etc.)
- In the case of factories: visit and help in determining what parts can be replaced with 3D printed ones and what savings this will bring
- 3D scanning and reverse engineering
5. 3D Scanning (Reverse Engineering)
If you do not have a 3D model but you have a sample of the part you want to print, you can send it to us. We will scan the element precisely and create a 3D model ready for printing.
The cost of this service depends on the dimensions of the detail to be scanned and its degree of geometric complexity. The minimum price of the service is €150.
6. Inserts
If we are fully responsible for the project, we can propose an appropriate solution and guarantee that the holes and installation system will match market standards.
In the case of a client’s project, we need accurate information about the insert to adjust the design precisely before printing.
7. Accuracy
HP Multi Jet Fusion technology ensures the accuracy of printed parts at +/-0.3mm ≤ 100 mm, +/-0.3% >100mm.
8. Post-processing
After printing, the ordered parts can be finished in 5 ways:
- Sandblasting with graphite
- Sandblasting without graphite
- Chemical treatment
- Immersion dyeing
- Polyshot
You can read more about post-processing in this article.
9. Payments
The standard form of payment is bank transfer within seven days. For larger orders, payment is split 50% before and 50% after completion.
10. Online orders
If the project is accepted, it is transferred to the client’s account. Using the panel, you can place orders at any time. This method guarantees the fastest possible implementation.
