Taxus IT Ltd. is a Polish company that has been supporting the State Forests and other forest management entities, as well as the surveying industry for over 25 years creating specialized devices and dedicated software.

As creators of innovative, specialized equipment, the Taxus IT team is often faced with the challenge of producing high-quality devices in relatively small numbers (about several hundred pieces). It was no different in the case of one of the company’s new products – a GNSS receiver intended for foresters and GIS (Geographic Information System) users.
It was known from the beginning that the product had to be of high quality, and the series would be produced in low numbers, approximately several hundred pieces per month. Before coming to us, the client tried several solutions, including another 3D printing technology, and also considered an injection solution, but they did not meet the quality requirements or were unprofitable.
Although the Taxus IT team had high requirements, we knew that HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology would allow them to be easily met. After printing the prototype, it quickly became clear to the client that the printed housings would work perfectly. This is how the manager remembers the situation company sales, Kamil Gębala:
“The technology in which the housings were made resulted in high precision and a quality finishing texture. The overall visual and qualitative effect was very satisfactory to us.”
The support of our design team was crucial to the project’s success. The Taxus IT team did not have a detailed 3D design, only general assumptions based on what dimensions were required to fit the electronic circuit inside the product. So, we went through the design process with the client and quickly obtained the appropriate form, allowing us to implement the product quickly and sell the first series.
However, this was not the end of product development. Over the following months, the Taxus IT team noticed additional opportunities to improve the product, and the use of 3D printing significantly facilitated the process of implementing these changes, which is also emphasized by Kamil Gębala:
“A huge advantage is that we can change the design at any time and produce each subsequent piece slightly differently at almost no additional costs.”
During our cooperation, there were occasional additional needs to print more accessories. Each time, the client used our services all the way.
As part of one cooperation, the client received full support from the design and improvement of parts until their production.
Thanks to our service, the customer can produce as many devices as he needs at a given time, without having to freeze funds.
Using HP Multi Jet Fusion technology, the customer was able to bring the product to market quickly, which was not possible with other technologies.
